Please read these terms before using Growing Up Daily. By using the service, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

1. What Growing Up Daily Is

Growing Up Daily is a free web application that provides daily conversation starters and educational content for parents and guardians to use with their children, covering topics relevant to child and adolescent development from ages 5 to 18.

Growing Up Daily is operated as a free resource. There is no charge to use any part of the service.

2. Who Can Use This Service

Growing Up Daily is intended for use by parents and guardians aged 18 or over. The content is designed to be used with children in a family context. The service is not intended to be used directly by children without parental guidance.

By using the service, you confirm that you are 18 or over and are accessing it in your capacity as a parent, guardian, or carer.

3. What This Service Is Not

Growing Up Daily provides general conversation starters and educational content only. It does not provide:

• Medical, psychological, or psychiatric advice
• Safeguarding or child protection services
• Therapeutic, counselling, or clinical support
• Legal or financial advice
• Crisis support or emergency services

If you have concerns about a child's physical or mental health, wellbeing, or safety, please consult a qualified professional or contact the appropriate services immediately. In the UK, the NSPCC helpline is 0808 800 5000. In the US, the Childhelp National Child Abuse Hotline is 1-800-422-4453.

4. Content Accuracy and Limitations

We make reasonable efforts to ensure content is accurate, age-appropriate, and evidence-informed. However:

• Content reflects general best practice and may not be appropriate for every family, culture, or child
• Content about development, health, and relationships is based on general research and is not tailored to individual circumstances
• Resources linked from the app are provided for information only — we are not responsible for their content
• You should exercise your own judgment as a parent or guardian about what content is appropriate for your child

5. Sensitive Topics

Some content covers sensitive topics including puberty, sexual health, mental health, substance use, and child safety. These topics are clearly flagged within the app. Parents and guardians are solely responsible for deciding whether and how to use this content with their children.

6. Your Data

All data you enter (children's details, notes, progress) is stored on your device only, using browser localStorage. See our Privacy Policy for full details. We are not responsible for data loss due to browser clearing, device changes, or other technical issues.

7. Email Reminders

If you subscribe to email reminders, your email is processed by Buttondown (our email service provider). You can unsubscribe at any time. We will never use your email for purposes other than sending the daily reminder you requested.

8. Intellectual Property

All content in Growing Up Daily — lessons, tips, conversation starters, and design — is our original work. You may use it freely for personal, family use. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or sell it without permission.

9. Availability and Changes

We provide this service free of charge and reserve the right to change, pause, or discontinue it at any time without notice. We will make reasonable efforts to maintain availability but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access.

We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance. The date of the most recent update is shown at the top of this page.

10. Liability

Growing Up Daily is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service or reliance on its content.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
